
Apple Crumble
Apple crumble version 1 using plain wheat flour and oats, walnuts and cinnamon.
Ingredients
- 100 gms plain all-purpose flour
- 50 gms oats or other grain of choice
- 50 gms walnuts – chopped
- 50 gms dark sugar
- 50 gms beet or cane sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon powder
- 80 ml rapeseed oil
- 1.5 large apples
Instructions
- The crumble topping can be made up to a day in advance and kept in the fridge.To make the topping, in a mixing bowl combine all the ingredients apart from the apples, stir well with a fork to combine, making sure all the dry ingredients are moistened by the oil.
- Pre-heat oven to 180c
- Peel the apples and cut into smallish chunks or slices.
- Arrange the apples over the bottom of a baking dish and sprinkle evenly with the topping.
- Bake in the oven for about 40 minutes until the apples are tender and the topping is brown.
- Leave to cool to a warm or room temperature before serving.
